This important legislation provides a wide range of new tools to combat money laundering and the financing of terrorists. We are required by law to do the following when we open your account:

  • Collect identifying information about our members when opening an account
  • Verify that the members are who they say they are
  • Maintain records of the information used to verify your identity

What this means to you is…

We will collect relevant identifying information such as your name, address, date of birth, and a taxpayer identification number – for individuals, this will likely be a Social Security number. Foreign nationals without a U.S. taxpayer identification number could provide a similar government-issued identification number, such as a passport number. You will need to be prepared to present some form of photo identification, such as a driver's license or passport as well as your social security card.
