Are you staying with a financial institution just because you think it’s a hassle to switch? Well….it isn’t. At AOD Federal Credit Union, it’s easy to switch financial institutions with our Switch Kit!

Our Switch Kit outlines the steps to follow and simplifies the process of changing from one financial institution to another. The kit contains forms to:

  • Cancel Direct Deposit and Preauthorized Payments
  • Authorize Automatic Transfers
  • Notice to Close Accounts
  • Notice to Terminate Transfers

We can help you accomplish these sometimes "mundane" tasks in 7 steps or less! That's a promise!

  1. Open your new account with AOD Federal Credit Union.
  2. Stop using your old account(s).
  3. Stop all direct deposits from going to your old financial institution account(s) and start sending them to your new accounts with our Direct Deposit Form. Be sure to fill out one Direct Deposit Form for each company making direct deposits into your account.
  4. Call the appropriate agencies to stop any direct deposits for any governmental benefits that you currently are receiving into your old accounts. You should also start sending these type deposits into your new account with AOD.

    3. Department of Veterans Affairs 1-800-827-1000
  5. Next, revoke any preauthorized payments and/or direct deposits that you had previously initiated from and/or to your old account(s). Authorize the initiation of the payments and/or direct deposits to come from and/or post to your new AOD account(s). Please complete Revocation of Prior Authorization Forms for each third party that is currently authorized to initiate such payments and/or direct deposits.
  6. Authorize internal Automatic Transfers, if applicable, between your accounts here at AOD.
  7. Once all your direct deposits have been received into your new AOD account(s) and all outstanding transactions on your old account(s) have cleared, use the Account Closing Form to close out any old accounts and terminate any authority for transfers between them.
