Six Scholarships Awarded By AOD Federal Credit Union to local High School seniors – April 28, 2009

Six AOD Federal Credit Union Scholarship recipients were honored at an awards dinner hosted by AODFCU Board of Directors and Management.  The winners were:

Daniel L. Ledford of Pell City High School

Quenton M. Moore of Faith Christian School

Miranda C. Richard of Oxford High School

Mary Anna Shurbutt of Oxford Christian School

Bethany H. Sims of Weaver High School

Kallie P. Tankersley of Saks High School

Also in attendance were the winner’s family members and High School representatives.

The scholarship recipients will also be honored at each of their schools’ Awards Day ceremonies in May.  Each $1,000 scholarship will be paid at the beginning of recipients’ freshman year and will be issued directly to the college, university, community college or technical/vocational school of their choice.

Recognizing that tuition rates continue to rise at a rapid pace, AOD Federal Credit Union’s newly established scholarship fund will assist members that plan to pursue a college degree or certification from a technical/vocational school. AOD Federal Credit Union will award six scholarships to high school graduating seniors annually who have been AOD Federal Credit Union members for at least one year.
