Financial education is a very important way of life. At AOD Federal Credit Union, we recognize that and feel that it's extremely important to take the time to educate our members on financial topics that affect your every day way of life. That's why we have developed member education seminars.

Member education is vital when you consider the sheer numbers of issues facing consumers:

• One in 5 U.S. households-more than 21 million consumers-has been directly affected by some sort of ID theft.¹
• a survey of 1,000 Americans, 50% said their knowledge of credit reports was fair or poor.²
• In 2003, 1.6 million households-one of every 73-filed for bankruptcy. The continued growth of this number indicates that "last resort" bankruptcy-as it used to be considered-has now become a financial management fall-back for many people.
• Average credit card debt among people who have at least one card: $9,205³
