Community Involvement

AOD Federal Credit Union places a high level of importance on Community Involvement.

The credit union's values are reflected in its dedication to the communities it serves. AOD Federal Credit Union and its employees provided invaluable support to a variety of non-profit community-based organizations that provide compassionate assistance to those in need.

AOD provided support for numerous organizations and events in our local community throughout 2005. Your credit union contributed $10,000 to Habitat for Humanity - providing funding for the remodeling of 2 homes for needy families. A contribution of $20,000 was made, to the Red Cross, to assist the local "Hurricane Katrina" relief effort. The credit union was a proud sponsor or contributor to a number of other groups and events that included RSVP, United Way, Sunny King Charity Classic, Anniston Soup Bowl, American Cancer Society, Boy Scouts and others. In addition, credit union staff and volunteers donated their time and personal funds to many of these same organizations.

Again in 2006 AOD assisted local organizations including the United Way, Youth Villages, United Cerebral Palsy, Rainbow Omega, ARC, and many others. Also in 2006 AODFCU, implemented a new "Scholarship" fund to assist member families with education expenses. We also provided for increased credit union involvement in member related community activities through "Volunteer Paid Time Off Program."
