AODFCU places a high level of importance on Community Involvement

AODFCU Federal Credit Union supports the economic growth of our communities through local projects and organizations. In 2009, AOD Federal Credit Union again received the Gold Award for its high employee per capita donations to the United Way – an organization that supports our community through funding and community building efforts. In addition, AODFCU and its employees provided invaluable support to a variety of non-profit and community-based programs.  AODFCU donated over $24,000 to 36 local non-profit organizations and provided more than 300 hours of volunteer service to those in need.  AODFCU also contributed $50,000 towards the construction of a new home.  AODFCU Board of Directors, employees and family members joined Habitat for Humanity of Calhoun County to sponsor and help build a home for the Tyus family in Alexandria, Alabama, which was completed and dedicated in April 2009.  In April of 2010, AODFCU continued to support Habitat for Humanity of Calhoun County and presented the organization with a donation of $2,500 in conjunction with the completion of the local charity’s 136th project house.

AODFCU is committed to making a difference in peoples’ lives. As a socially responsible company, AODFCU supports employee participation in worthwhile projects and organizations in communities where our employees and members live and work. AODFCU recognizes that such participation provides employees valuable leadership training, work experience and a sense of personal fulfillment. In turn, our communities benefit from the time and energy of AODFCU volunteers. AODFCU’s volunteer program sponsors a number of volunteer opportunities for its employees and also informs employees of additional volunteer opportunities that they can pursue independently. The Volunteer Paid Time Off policy was created to demonstrate AODFCU’s support for its employees’ volunteer efforts.  AODFCU supports employee volunteer efforts with paid time off for eligible volunteer activities up to 20 hours per calendar year for full-time employees. The credit union's values are reflected in its dedication to the communities it serves.
